The personal safety platform for people who live independently

Live independently. Not alone.

One app for every way you live independently — at home, on the move, and aging in place. A daily check-in watches your back; if you go silent, your trusted contacts are automatically alerted. Protection that stays with you — no pendant, no monitoring center, and we only ever reach out if something's wrong.

I'm Alive is the personal safety app for people who live independently — adults living alone, the family who set it up for them, solo travelers and remote workers. The daily check-in is free: tap “I'm okay” once a day and get reminders if you forget. Alert-only by default — your emergency contact is messaged only if you go silent. Try It includes one alert a month; Protect Me alerts every time, with escalation and SMS. Phone-based fall detection is coming next — it will alert your trusted contacts if you take a hard fall and can't respond. No continuous tracking, no hardware, no contract.

One app · three lives

Which one are you?

Same promise, shaped to how you live. Pick your situation — we'll show you exactly how I'm Alive fits.

Solo & independent living

You love living on your own.
Your family just wants to know you're okay.

A two-second daily tap says “I’m okay.” Forget once and your phone’s own activity — unlocks, charging, movement — quietly confirms you’re fine. No false alarms, no fuss.

Daily check-in — one tap, then get on with your day.
Passive monitoring — we read phone activity, not your location.
Alert-only — your person hears from us only if you go silent.

“I live alone and love it. My daughter used to call every morning ‘just to check.’ Now she gets a quiet ‘all good’ — and only a real alert if I ever go quiet.”

How it works

Three steps. That's the whole app.

STEP 1

Tap “I’m OK”

Two seconds a day, or on a trip. Forget? Your phone activity covers you.

STEP 2

If you go silent

We wait on your schedule, send gentle reminders, and never panic early.

STEP 3

Your people are told

Push, email and SMS to the contacts you chose — with location if it helps.

The feeling, not just the feature

One tap. Everyone who loves you exhales.

One tap tells the people who care.

Fall detection · coming to the app

Your phone knows when something isn't right.

For someone who lives alone, a fall is a timing problem, not just a medical one — what you survive depends on how fast you're found. Phone-based fall detection means help reaches the people you trust even if you can't reach your phone, so you never lie on the floor waiting for help. Nothing to wear. Coming to the app.

It checks on you first, then alerts your trusted contacts — never 911. Phone-based, opt-in, best-effort. Not a medical device.

82% of falls happened when the person was alone — and 4 in 5 who fell couldn't get up without help.

In a study of adults over 90 who fell · Fleming & Brayne, BMJ 2008

That is the gap fall detection closes: if you can't get up, you may not be able to reach your phone either. Set up your circle now so someone is there to be told.

Fall detection

Your phone can spot a hard fall, check on you first, and alert your trusted contacts if you don't respond — no pendant to wear, and it never calls 911.

Does exactly what it says
I've got a lot of peace of mind very easily from this app. It's really simple to set up and even simpler to use — daily reminders and a friendly green button! It doesn't even require an account or a password. The paid version (which I feel is actually really good value) sets up an escalation process including SMS to multiple contacts. I had a bug I needed fixing, and support responded in hours, having solved my problem. Which is probably the best feature of all!
